My next two or three posts are going to be all about film festivals. I'm going to share about a festival I helped start in 2002 that toured all across North America… I'm going to share about the infamous “puke video” that I was in in order to promote that festival… and I'm going to share about my new project, The Cauldron International Film and Video Festival.
It can be difficult for a new festival to get a lot of good submissions. So far, Cauldron has gotten some really amazing work in from multiple countries. However, we still need more! If YOU make videos or films that are unique in style and form, we are looking for you! We want narratives, documentaries, and experimental works of all types. If you KNOW SOMEONE who makes films/videos, PLEASE encourage them to submit. We are programming established makers along with new and fresh voices. Sometimes, students are reluctant to submit their work, but I want to emphasize that new makers often have new and radical ideas that you don't get from established makers. New, and radical ideas are what we love!
If you have a subscription to this (my) Substack page (hell, why not? It's free), then just message me for a submission fee discount that you or anyone you know can use!
