Where things are now with Codecxs Quarterly.
Hello,
Over the last few weeks we've been able to sell a good number of subscriptions to this magazine that you have all been hearing me talk about so much. I am truly excited to get this thing out and in the hands of a community of artists, collectors, thinkers, and doers. There's so much to communicate about these wide open spaces we live in, and the ideas of the creators who live here.
First off, I am sad to say that our projected publishing time has become too short for the initial promotional kickoff we wanted to do in Park City. We were running things right down to the wire and I still had many editorial changes to make before this magazine could be completed. Since there is not enough time to publish all the issues before the Sundance Film Festival, we won't be doing our promotion on the streets of Park City at the end of this month. I hate this because I really was hoping to capitalize on the energy there. However, I am incredibly enthused by the support I've gotten from people on this project and I'm not sure if we needed the Park City event.
CODECXS, Will be sent out to subscribers homes, and hit the streets of Salt Lake City at the end of February. We are currently in the editing process, and I think the magazine will go to publication around the end of January, which should give us time for distribution in February.
In the meantime, I am going to ramp up my call for subscriptions, because the more initial dollars we can get in, the more copies we can get in circulation at the end of February.
The magazine is probably going to look somewhat like the mock-up above, however, I have discovered that we need to make the dimensions somewhat different.
